Eight players from the Little Illini Conference have been named to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State team, which was announced this week.
League champion Olney and Casey-Westfield each landed two players on the all-state team, while Marshall, Mt. Carmel, Newton, and Paris also had players named to the statewide honor squad.
First-team selections included QB/DB Gavyn Cothern of Olney, and RB/LB Luke Karras of Casey-Westfield. Six LIC standouts were named to the Honorable Mention team: RB/DB Carter Crippes of Paris, WR/DB Dexter Fulton of Newton, RB Lucca Giannavola of Marshall, OL/DL Casey Thomann of Olney, DL/OL Freddy Thomas of Casey-Westfield, and TE Jack Webb of Mt. Carmel.
