(BLOOMINGTON) — The Illinois High School Association has released team assignments for the 2026 state baseball tournament.
Regional tournament play begins on May 25, with Sectional tournament semifinals scheduled for June 3-4. Super-Sectionals will be played on June 8, with potential LIC survivors either heading to either Carbondale or Springfield. The IHSA State Finals will be held at Illinois Field in Champaign on June 12-13.
Two Little Illini Conference teams – Casey-Westfield and Lawrenceville – will play in the same Class 1A Sectional tournament, while the other six have been assigned to three different Sectionals in the larger Class 2A division in the four-class state series. Only one LIC team – Mt. Carmel – will host a Class 2A Regional tournament.
According to the IHSA, baseball seeds will be posted about 4 p.m on Tuesday, May 5. Tournament pairings will be released about 4 p.m. on the following day, Wednesday, May 6.
