(BLOOMINGTON) –-The Illinois High School Association has released its’ Sectional team assignments for the 2026 track and field state series.

In this two-class sport, five Little Illini Conference teams compete in Class 1A, with three assigned to the larger Class 2A division. Sectional meets will be held on May 14 for girls, with the boys meets scheduled for six days later on May 20. The state meets are both being held once again at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston – the girls meet from May 21-23, with the boys finals coming up on May 28-30.

Newton will host two Sectional meets: the girls meet on May 14, and the boys affair on May 20).
