(ROBINSON) — Olney and Marshall repeated as Little Illini Conference cross country champions on Tuesday at the league meet in Robinson.

Boys Race
Olney edged Paris in a hotly contested boys race decided by only seven points. The winning Tigers total of 28 points came on the basis of a 1-2-4-6 finish. Paris was next with 35 points, followed by Robinson (89 points), Marshall (103), and Mt. Carmel (111). Olney junior Quaid Berger repeated as the individual champion in a time of 14:59.00, 38 seconds ahead of senior Harrison Hays of Paris.

Girls Race
Marshall won its’ fifth LIC girls title in the last eight years. The Lady Lions claimed three of the top four spots in the race, won by senior Madeleine Fox in a time of 18:58.77, 22 seconds ahead of sophomore teammate Grace Thompson. Marshall finished with a total of 34 points. Newton took second with 52 points, just ahead of Olney’s 54 points. Robinson wound up fourth with 74 points.
