Perhaps due in part to the weather, but at this early moment in the LIC boys basketball race there are five teams tied for first place. Five! Casey-Westfield, Lawrenceville, Marshall, Newton, and Olney each sport 1-0 LIC marks after the first two weeks of conference play.
On top of that, two of the teams — Lawrenceville and Casey-Westfield — are both state-ranked and undefeated overall. Lawrenceville is 8-0 and ranked second in Class 1A, according to Nesto Hoops, which also has 6-0 Casey-Westfield listed in 19th in 1A.
