(BLOOMINGTON) — The pairings have been released by the Illinois High School Association for the upcoming boys state basketball tournament.

Regional tournament play begins on Monday, Feb. 23 in all four classes. Little Illini Conference schools have been assigned to five regional sites in two different classes. Two schools — Casey-Westfield in Class 1A, and Robinson in Class 2A — will host a Regional. Semifinal and championship games are played at the Regional host site. First round games are hosted by the school with the higher seed. One team – No. 2-ranked (Class 1A) Lawrenceville – will carry a No. 1 seed into the Louisville (North Clay) Regional.

Potential LIC Regional champions would advance to Sectionals at either Macon Meridian in Class 1A, or Monticello in 2A, beginning on Tuesday, Mar. 3. Winners there would move on to the Super-Sectional game on Monday, Mar. 9 at either Eastern Illinois University (Class 1A) or Pontiac (Class 2A). The state championship tournament will be played on Mar. 12-14 at State Farm Center on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign..
